The station on Sumner brook has never been satisfactory so it was decided to rip it up and build a brand new one.
The original was made using the Peco platform edges with just a card surface and the odd block supports underneath.
The replacement is bing made from planed 2" x 1" timber shaped to fit the track and with plasticard brick clued on the visable edges. A thick card surface has then been stuck on and then sandpaper stuck on top of that to look like a tarmac surface.
The result is solid station platforms that will take the weight of buildings and canopies without collapsing as the original was doing.
Once it is all completed I will add some pictures of it to the Sumner Brook page of the website.
