If you are thinking about joining then just come along on a Monday evening and see if we are what you want.
You can just turn up and try us out for a couple of weeks with no commitment to having to join.
If you like what you find then the current fees are a £10 joining fee and then £7 per month to remain as a member.
If you have absolutely no knowledge or experience then joining a club is the best way to make a start.

You could also make use of our forum if you wish to.
Just drop me a email with the user name you would want to use and I can add you to the community.
You may also find the forum on the New Railway Modellers site helpful. There is a link to that site on the home page of our HMRG one.

This is incorrect as this is a guest book and not really the place for discussions as such.
If you want to engage in proper discussions on model railways then you would be better using the actual forum on our site.
However you cannot just setup an account as due to the perverted among the internet community it has been necessary to set up the forum so that you have to request an account.
This request involves an email to the webmaster (me) who if convinced that you are really interested in model railways will give you permissions to post on the forums.
